Creating a Conference Poster

Before You Print

  • Proofread, proofread again, and AGAIN!!!
  • Review the conference/instructor guidelines
  • Get feedback
    • Friends, roommates, family, faculty advisor
    • Anonymous feedback – Pimp my Poster on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/groups/688685@N24/pool/)

Printing

  • Saving Your Poster:
    • When you have completed your poster, make sure to save it twice using a Windows PC
      • First, save it as a PowerPoint document (so you can make revisions later if you need to). 
      • Second, save it as a JPEG document by changing the format Save As Type to JPEG:

  • Poster Printing:
    • Send your poster jpeg file to the Mail and Copy Center to print (mailsvcs@bakerU.edu) with a subject line of: “Poster Printing”.   In the body of the email, please indicate the size of your poster and how you plan to pay for the poster.  Some departments will provide a fund code that you can use rather than paying out of pocket.
  • Poster Pickup: 
    • Once your poster has printed, the Mail and Copy Center staff will send you an email indicating that the poster is ready to be picked up.
