Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan is available for items not owned by the Baker University Library. Remember to use your Baker email address when placing requests.

Items that are difficult to obtain through interlibrary loan are:

  • recently published books
  • entire volumes of a periodical
  • reference works
  • rare books and original manuscripts
  • AV material and computer software
  • Dissertations and theses

To request an item, use one of the Interlibrary Loan forms available on the library website under the Interlibrary Loan button (located in the far right column on the library's website, here is a link ), on the databases on the search results page or the Journal Finder results page.

Helpful tips:

Search the Baker Library Catalog and Find A Journal before submitting requests to make sure that Baker University Library does not already own the materials you are requesting.

Please include the ISSN and ISBN numbers when available (If given, will speed request processing).

During high traffic times, a general rule of 5 requests per borrower, per day will be processed.  As time allows, all other requests above the 5 will be processed.

Allow 7-10 days for delivery of most items.

If you have problems, please email ill@bakeru.edu OR call 785-594-8427, or for immediate assistance, call 785-594-8414 or email library@bakeru.edu.
