Instructional Design & Performance Technology

Course Description

Students analyze and solve current instructional design and performance technology (improvement) problems related to education, health, government, business, and/or industry. IDPT cases are examined with their associated problems. The cases are based upon problems and issues that need instructional design and performance technology solutions. Students create an IDPT solution to the AECT annual competition problem.

Student Learning Outcomes

After completing this course the student will:
1. Examine, analyze, and evaluate a variety of IDPT problem and solutions.

2. Analyze an IDPT current problem that needs an IDPT solution.
(ibstpi 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 16)
3. Create a solution to a current IDPT problem using IDPT methods and strategies
(e.g. AECT Competition).

This MS Degree and courses are based upon the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (ibstpi®). The Instructional Designer standards, competencies, and performance statements are utilized to determine Course Outcomes.
