Resources needed to find companies operating outside of the U.S.

Find a Company's Registration

Find a Specific Company

1. At the opening screen, from the thick blue bar at the top of the screen, select: Company Profiles.

 

1. From the Nexis/Uni home page, slide to the top of the page.
2. Click on the down arrow by Menu. Select: Company Dossier

. The link opens in the Company Dossier screen.
2. Type your company in the Company Name box.
3.  Select it from the list provided.
4.  A complete report will appear.

Worldbox is a specialized resource, containing international company profiles from a variety of countries,
Here are the steps to follow to locate company information in this publication.

1. From the Nexis Uni home page, under "What are you interested in", highlight A Publication.
2. In the "Search for something specific" box, type: Your company; (for example, Telstra Corp.)
3. In the "Find Publication" box, type: Worldbank. You'll be given a list of specific Worldbank publications tied to specific countries. Since Telstra is an Australian company, you'd highlight Worldbox Australia.

Find international manufacturing locations

Sometimes, as part of creating a full picture of a company's business, it's helpful to locate where they might have located their manufacturing facilities. In general, there doesn't seem to be one directory or database that provides this information. Generally, it has been necessary to piece the information together using a variety of sources:
a. articles
b. press releases
c. SEC filings
d. Annual reports
e. the company's website
    eg: Fruit of the Loom
          Go to Our Locations
           Fruit of the Loom Europe
           About Us
           Manufacturing (see the index on the left side of the page)
           See the description of a plant in Morocco.

 Many US apparel companies work with a contractor who handles off shore manufacturing .  This is how the US company can often claim no knowledge of conditions or involvement.  For example Fruit of Loom goods are probably made in the same factory as dozens of other brands.

Find a List of Companies by Country

1. In the opening screen, select: Gain Deep Insight on Companies Around the Globe.
Then, select: Browse All Companies

 

2. Use the drop-down boxes along the top to filter your choices.

1. Start in the Advanced Search page.
2. In the first search box, type your country.
3. Change the search field to: GE Geographic Terms.


4. Scroll down the page to: Search Options.
5. Continue scrolling to: Document Type
6. Use the drop down arrow to highlight: Company Report.


7. Search

8. The Results will link to each company's MarketLine report.

1. From the Nexis/Uni home page, slide to the top of the page.
2. Click on the down arrow by Menu. Select: Company Dossier

3. Once you're in the Company Dossier screen,
4.. Place a check by: Only show headquarters locations box, which will help limit the number of results.
5. Next to Regions/Countries, select: Edit

4. You will be prompted to select your region, then country.

5. The results will list the top 3 companies. You'll need to select the View All button to see the entire list.
